Text Reverser
Reverse characters, words or lines — or flip it upside down.
Your text never leaves your browser
Hides your text behind a privacy screen so no one nearby can read it. Your text stays in the box and keeps counting.Processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
About the Text Reverser
Text Reverser flips your text three ways: reverse the characters (so it reads backwards), reverse the word order, or reverse the order of lines. Choose a mode and copy the result.
The upside-down toggle works alongside any of the three: turn it on with Characters for the classic uʍop ǝpᴉsdn text, or with word or line order to flip the letters while the reading order stays sensible.
Useful for puzzles, testing, or flipping a list bottom-to-top. Your text never leaves your browser — everything is computed locally.
Common uses
- Reversing line order to flip a list.
- Creating mirror/backwards text for fun or puzzles.
- Flipping a bio or username upside down for social profiles.
- Swapping word order to test parsing.
Frequently asked questions
What does character reverse do to emoji?
Reversal works on Unicode characters, so most emoji and accented letters stay intact rather than breaking apart.
Can I reverse just the lines?
Yes — the line mode keeps each line as-is but flips their top-to-bottom order.
How does the upside-down toggle work?
It swaps every letter for its rotated-180° counterpart and can be combined with any of the three modes. Characters plus upside down gives text that reads correctly when your screen is turned around.
Why do letters like N, S, Z, H, I, O and X stay the same?
Because they already are upside down. Those letters — plus l, o, s, x, z, 0 and 8 — look identical when you rotate them 180°, so there is nothing to swap them for. Turn your screen around and they read exactly the same.
Will upside-down text work everywhere I paste it?
Almost anywhere — it is plain Unicode, not an image or a font. A few characters have no rotated twin and are left as they are, and very old apps may show a box for the rarer glyphs.
Is it reversible?
Reversing again returns the original — upside down included — and your source text stays in the input box regardless.
